Wi-Fi codes that keep working

  • Join from the proof first

The code holds exactly what you typed, capitals and spaces included. Print one copy and join the network with it before you print more.

  • A new password needs a new code

The password is written into the code. Change it and the printed code stops working. A guest network lets you change your own password without reprinting.

  • Print the details beside it

Laptops and some older phones cannot scan. The network name and password printed under the code let them join too.

  • Size it for where it hangs

On a table card or the fridge, 3 to 4 cm (1¼ to 1½ in) wide. On a wall sign, a tenth of the scanning distance.

Questions

Something else? Email support@qrpine.com and a person answers.

Yes. The camera app on iPhones and on most Android phones reads a Wi-Fi code and offers to join the network.

The code is made in your browser: the network name and password are never sent to QRPine. Anyone who scans the printed code can read the password, so hang it where you would write the password on a card.

Yes. Turn on "Hidden network", and phones that scan the code join it even though it does not broadcast its name.

Phones read the network and password from the code itself, with no link in between, so there is nothing a dynamic code could change. When the password changes, make a new code.
